Bowers Invasive plants clearance Work

On Earth Day, Larry Kunz led a work party to clear invasive plants at Bower Springs conservation land. Larry has been leading Bower Spring invasive clearance work parties for a last few years. His goal is to clear all invasive plants from the property. He has sub-divided property into smaller sections. During each session volunteers tackle a section. Bittersweet has taken hold of many areas. There are also other invasive plants that get removed during this 

Below are some of the pictures from work party. First two pictures shows the set up with the equipment that Larry shared with volunteers. 

He and two other volunteers made a huge pile of bittersweet and cleared some very large plants. One of the areas is cleared and another area was partially done. 

The orange roots of bittersweet are clearly visible below. It is very difficult to remove this plant. Volunteers have worked hard to clear this section.
