Access: There are several access points for the trails at Rattlesnake.
Wildflower trail can be accessed via the Lime Kiln entrance which is located on Route 117, approximately 1.5 miles east of Route 495. A gravel parking lot is on the north side of 117 (Main Street) just before a brown fence. If you reach Bolton Spring Farms you’ve gone to far.

Many species of native wildflowers grow at Rattlesnake since this conservation land offers variety of ecosystems such as low to high woodland slopes, wetland areas as well as meadows. We have provided some details about the plants identified by Elizabeth Bagdonas, who was Bedford Conservation Agent and amateur botanist in the links below. You will find ephemeral native plants that bloom in early spring, annual and perennial plants that bloom from early spring to late summer, variety of ferns as well as non-native plants during your walk.
