Trails cleared at Bowers Springs and Vaughn Hills

On Friday 20 May 2022, Gordon Taylor checked out some trails at Bowers Springs and Vaughn Hills as preparation for their use as part of the route for the Tom Denney Nature Camp hike in the Summer of 2022.

Three notable trail blockages were found, probably occurring during recent storms. A very large tree had fallen below the cliffs on the eastern side of the North Peak at Vaughn. In falling, it had brought down a number of other trees, some quite large. On the trail out towards Bare Hill Road, a medium sized tree was across the trail about 2 feet from the ground and at Bowers Springs a medium sized tree was lying on the ground across the path from Bare Hill Road to the Lower Pond, very near the bridge over Bowers Brook.

So on Tuesday 24 May a team of Keith Silver, Larry Kunz and Gordon Taylor cleared all of these blockages.
