Woodchips at Goose Pond Path

Woodchips on the path

If you have ventured along the trails from the Goose Pond Path turnaround to the Wilder farm area, you would have noticed how easily it becomes overgrown. At Drew Schaubhut’s suggestion the builder of the nearby houses in the Tadmor development was asked to supply some woodchips that could be used to cover the trail and suppress the weeds. He left a huge amount at the trailhead and Drew led a team of Greg Matte, Betsy Taylor-Kennedy and Gordon Taylor to spread them. They brought rakes, shovels, forks, wheelbarrows, and buckets.

The weather on the afternoon of Sunday 13 November 2022 was far from perfect (intermittent showers after a very wet morning), but all the chips were put in place across a significant section of the route. Everybody enjoyed the hard work and felt satisfaction at having achieved something worthwhile.
