Trail improvements at Bowers Springs

A team led by Larry Kunz has restarted the work to improve the seriously eroded trails at Bowers Springs by covering up roots with loam tailings generously donated by a local company.

Larry was helped by Keith Silver with his Kubota and Rebecca’s Longvall’s friend who used his trailer to bring the machine over to the site. Other participants included Dan Kagan and Gordon Wallis: they helped to spread the tailings and set the logs in place at the edge of the paths.

Larry has marked out 12 specific work areas around the ponds so the work can be planned for the follow up day on Saturday 24 October to avoid clustering together as the day progresses.  Participants were able to choose the areas that they wanted to work on and using teams of 2 if needed for the larger ones.
