Bolton Trails get a State Grant.

Many of Bolton’s trails can only be navigated by agile hikers, in many cases this is because of the bridges. In response to this, Cindy Ayotte has been working on a set of improvements with the objective of replacing many existing bridges with structures that are safe and more substantial for use by multiple types of users. She obtained the Conservation Commission’s approval to go ahead with the project (read more here), subject to some modifications, and applied for a grant under the State’s MassTrails and Conine Family Foundation scheme.

On 28 June, the grant certificates were awarded and, on project completion, Bolton will receive over $39,000 towards the cost of construction of new bridges at 9 places on conservation areas.

Cindy was out of town on business, so Larry Kunz, Gordon Taylor, and Rebecca Longvall attended the awards event in Milton Massachusetts where the leading speaker was the Lieutenant Governor, Karyn Polito.
