Goats at Fyfeshire
August 21, 2022
Bolton Conservation Trust held an experiment by using goats to manage abundance of poison ivy at Fyfeshire. An area was blocked off by electric fence during late summer. Goats were brought in to graze in that area. Experiment looks successful so far as leaves are gone and only stems remain which won’t be able to survive without leaves. Area will be monitored during spring. If poison ivy does not comes back then this could be a solution to reduce PI from conservation area.
