Ballville Trails mapped, arrowed and cleared

During the last two years, Trails Committee members Drew Schaubhut, Gordon Taylor, Larry Kunz and Rebecca Bucciaglia assisted by Abbie Maguire, Winslow Green and Betsy Taylor-Kennedy have been working on a new set of trails in the Ballville Road area of town across the road from the International Golf Club. This 2-mile group of paths surrounds The Oak trail housing development and includes a walk through a secluded part of the North Brook valley which home to wildlife including coyote, bobcat and deer.

The paths cross two parcels of conservation land. Both were acquired by the Town of Bolton in 2008 when the Oak Trail Farming and Open Space Residential Development was subdivided. There is also a trail easement owned by Bolton Conservation Trust which crosses private property at the north edge of the housing development next to a large meadow associated with Townshend Farm.
