Will we have more ospreys in Bolton?
November 19, 2023

In Summer 2017, ospreys nested on the cell phone tower at the Bolton Transfer Station on Forbush Mill Road and in the last two Summers an osprey family has nested on a tree in the pond at Vaughn Hills, but will we see more?

After a long campaign by Rona Balco, on Friday 17 November 2023, a new osprey platform was installed on top of a telephone pole at Bolton Flats south of Route 117, but clearly visible from Bolton Orchards. The pole had been erected for this purpose a year earlier by National Grid. Ayacht lent their bucket truck.
We will be watching next Summer…
