Ad hoc Trails closed at Vaughn Hills

A number of unauthorized trails and mountain bike jumps had appeared at Vaughn Hills, mostly on the west side near the Moen area,. Creation or modification of new trails without review by the Conservation Commission is explicitly prohibited by town bylaws and might break state laws. So on August 5 2025, a team from Bolton Trails Committee blocked the new trails and installed signs that had been approved by the Conservation Department. These paths and jumos must not be used and are now re vegetation areas.
The signs are gone and all of these trails are still being used by mountain bikers. I have blocked the entire length of every trail at least 20 times in the last 8 months.
