Bridge relocation at the Moen Area

As part of the bridge project that had been undertaken by the Bolton Trails Committee and Bolton Conservation Commission, an existing bridge was removed from its location and left near the trail. This structure had been built as a Girl Scout project by Grace Larence several years ago. It had stayed in excellent condition and, apart from two broken boards, was very suitable for use in another location. A muddy place on the trail had been identified and the only barrier to it being moved was the weight. In early October 2025, a team consisting of Chris Demers, Keith Silver, Betsy Taylor-Kennedy and Gordon Taylor dismantled “Grace’s Bridge” at it became known and reassembled it in the new designated location. On a second occasion the team reconvened and replaced the broken boards with recycled material obtained from the Conservation Commission storage. at the same time, they leveled the structure and installed rebars to hold it in place.
