Haynes-Wheeler Trail – continued work

Steve, Larry and Gordon finished clearing the trail on Monday 17 June. There were a number of small trees and shrubs to be cleared. Also a few dead mid-size pine trees were removed from the route. The placement of arrows was improved – the original route markers had been installed by Gordon and Betsy in the Winter when there was little or no sight obstruction by leaves, etc. A chainsaw was needed to clear a large tree that blocked the path near the Sawyer Road end.
The next phase of this project will be the connection from the end of the guard rail on Wattaquadock Hill Road to the upper path in the Fyfeshire area.
The new trail will be shown on the next revision of The Bolton Trail maps.
