Multi-Site Brush Cleanup
June 16, 2021
With a vacation day and no kids to watch/entertain, it made a great day for doing some trail clean up. Although the poison ivy, pricker bushes, and aggressive invasive vines were not what I would necessarily call a relaxing vacation day, it ended up being quite rewarding. The Bolton Trails Committee is not sponsored by any sort of tool company (yet). I would like to express my appreciation for the yellow-and-black themed tool brand for trail work (chainsaw, weed-whacker, hedge trimmer). Ended up cleaning up the following areas in a few hours:
Zink Connector Trail: Sugar Rd Entrance Cleanup to make the entrance more visible (See Photo), Weed-whacking whole trail, cutting up downed log, trimming encroaching tree branches
Zink-Northwoods Trail: Corn Rd Entrance Cleanup, Trimming to the first bridge (weed whacker ran out of line, so had to switch to the hedge trimmer)
Houghton Farm: Clean up area around sign (See Photo), Houghton Farm Lane Entrance Cleanup (See Photo)
Powder House: Sugar Rd Entrance Cleanup
Welch Pond: Trail Cleanup from Wattaquadock Rd. to the stone wall of overgrown trail (jungle), scouted Philbin-Salmon Trail for suspected blow down, but only ended up taking down one leaning tree near the entrance.
