North Brook Trail is Now Open

The Bolton Conservation Trust and Bolton Trails Committee proudly announce the opening of a new multi-use passive recreational trail that connects multiple conservation areas, providing residents and visitors with a unique outdoor experience.

The new trail stretches approximately 1.5 miles and winds through scenic forests, along the edge of agricultural fields, and through ecologically significant areas of our community.

The project has been a collaborative effort involving local volunteers, private landowners, environmental organizations, and town officials. It underscores our commitment to promoting outdoor activities, conservation, and the well-being of our residents. It connects the Oak Trail Circuit off Ballville Road  (which circumnavigates the Oak Trail development) with the Fyfeshire Conservation Area on Wattaquadock Hill Road.

“We are thrilled to offer this new trail as a recreational resource for our community” said Drew Schaubhut, a Director with the Bolton Conservation Trust. “Not only is this trail a wonderful way for people to connect with nature and appreciate the natural beauty of our town, it is a key segment of the Bolton Loop Trail [an ongoing effort to create an off-road trail that circumnavigates Bolton]. This trail traverses through multiple parcels of private land, and we would like to thank the landowners, including the Taylor-Kennedy family and the owners of the International Golf Course, Escalante – The International LLC, for their cooperation in the planning and approval process.”

The community is invited to the Bolton Conservation Trust’s annual #OptOutside walk on Black Friday (November 29, 2024) at 11:00 a.m. to explore this trail with a guided hike. The event will start at the Fyfeshire Gate on Wattaquadock Hill Rd.
